Cycle: Sacha Guitry

"Theatre in a can" or cinema?
Disparaged by contemporary critics then brought back into favor by the Nouvelle Vague, Sacha Guitry remains amongst the forgotten of French cinema. For the final cycle Espace SD brings you four films, including a few that have yet to be reedited, paying tribute to a true iconoclast.

We're closing...

After more than eight years of continuous operation Espace SD will close its doors in April 2007.

The purpose of Espace SD has been to serve as a platform to discover, showcase and promote Lebanese artists across many mediums.
Espace SD has mounted almost 100 exhibitions, enabled over 200 artists and designers to present and promote their work. It has also hosted countless workshops, concerts, film screenings, performances and other events in parallel with the different exhibitions.

From its conception Espace SD has been a privately-run and individual initiative, consequently the decision to close is a private and individual one.

We are not closing because of the economic and political situation in Lebanon and neither are we leaving the country. On the contrary, now more than ever Lebanon needs platforms and projects for artists because the potential in the country is very much there.
We are closing because it is time for us to move on and evolve in our own artistic and creative journeys, in order to continue championing our artists and to act even more efficiently on behalf of culture in Lebanon.

We are already working on other projects and will keep you informed as soon as possible.

In the mean time, to all our regulars and everyone who has been a part of Espace SD we thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
