JOE KESROUANI
Né à Beyrouth en 1968, Joe Kesrouani est un artiste polyvalent. Architecte de formation, il est peintre autodidacte, et photographe professionnel. Passionné de musique il est également DJ la nuit.
Lors de sa dernière exposition, “Blow Up, unmixed”, qui a eu lieu il y a quelques mois, Joe Kesrouani a présenté une série de photographies grand format en noir et blanc.
“Blow Up, remixed”, est en quelque sorte la suite de cette dernière exposition. Joe reprend comme base certaines de ses photographies qu’il “remixe” en utilisant différentes techniques (peintures, collages etc…). Etirée, déchirée, et même parfois brûlée, l’artiste détourne l’image de son contexte original. Avec son style très personnel, Joe utilise ses talents de photographe pour donner à sa peinture une autre dimension.

Born in Beirut in 1968, Joe Kesrouani is an eclectic artist. Architect by trade, he is a self taught painter, photographer, and music aficionado who moonlights as a DJ at Beirut’s more stylish nightspots.
“Blow Up Remixed”, Joe Kesrouani’s next show at Espace SD, is a follow-up to a previous show entitled “Blow Up Unmixed”. Several of the large format photographs in Black and White previously shown are revisited and reworked. Kesrouani modifies his own work using an assortment of methods to transform and recontextualize the original images by painting, stretching, ripping and burning to essentially “remix” the images. A process of multi-layering, his photographs serve as a base to reveal his talents as a painter.
